Epilogue The Doctor gazed out over the aftermath of the battle - and wept. So many had died, and were still dying. And yet the fight remained unfinish, for the Red Tower still stood - that wretched Tower that looked to be a great streak of blood striking upward from the ground to the uppermost reaches of the Earth's atmosphere. The Doctor narrowed his eyes: he was running out of time. He was a Time Lord and yet despite his every effort, he had been unable to find a way to overcome the powers of the Red Tower - which affected an absolute manipulation over time itself. With his TARDIS he had been able to destroy the Black Tower, which was positioned on the opposite side of the planet. Nonetheless, such a gargantuan task had left his Time Ship greatly drained and ill-suited to repeating the action against the sister Tower. The Doctor glared up at the ominous streak of red; his hearts were pounding. He could feel the seconds slipping away, the threads of time unraveling around him. . . The powers generated by the Tower were permeating the whole of the 5 Dimensions. He took a breath - what could he do?

I don't know if anyone's seen the anime movie "Place Promised in Our Early Days", but that's where the idea for the look of tower in the distant background came from (only it was white in that movie).
My Editor (AKA my mom) really liked this pic, though we had to dispute over the Doctor a bit. (This picture was easy to start, but not to finish.) Anyway, I used modified screenshots for the background (like usual).
It's been a long time since I've commented on your art, but I can say with definite certainty that this is a phenomenal piece.
First are the colors. I don't know how much of this was drawn by you, and how much was photoshopped, but even then the color schemes are magnificent. I like how the reds are more of a magenta hue, which keeps an overall "cool color" theme, and deepens the sadness of the scene. The way the streaks of light shine from the tower enhances the sense of power we feel from it.
The way you drew the Doctor is what really gets me, though. The magenta color shows in his eyes and on his hair; a great way to unify the picture. His pose is striking: he is crying and looking back at us, not only because he cannot bear the site of the Red Tower which he failed to destroy, but because he feels like he has failed us, the viewers, for not saving us from the terrible fate of time unraveling. One hand is in his pocket, resigned to idleness, as he feels there is nothing left that he can do... while the other hand is still out, as if he has not finalized that decision, as if he hasn't yet given up all hope.
This is a great piece of art. You are so good with portraying strong emotional values through your images. It's a skill that I greatly admire and hope to emulate. The way you title it "Aftermath I" makes me think there will be another image; if so, I greatly look forward to it.
Cheers from SC, and keep churning out stuff like this (both in fiction and art) so that I can continually be moved and inspired.
0.0 I've never gotten a comment like that in my whole life . . ! Thank you SC!! I'm all giddy now! You're so in-depth, it's amazing. Thank you for making me feel like the best artist in the world.
Incredible. Simple awesome. I really love the composition. The colours all come together to make a beautiful, deep, and meaningful picture.
On top of all that, you are an excellent writer. You fill that gap between real story and real feelings. Its awesome to see someone not afraid to dive into Doctor Who, while still remaining real to the character. I especially love the TARDIS sinking. Definite fav+!

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
